Delhi University Student Killed in Hit-and-Run; Two Accused Arrested by Delhi Police

Delhi Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a Delhi University student, who worked as a newspaper hawker. The incident occurred on March 1 near KN Katju Marg in the national capital.


According to Delhi Police, the deceased was hit by a blue Hyundai Venue while at a T-point near KN Katju Marg. The police swiftly launched an investigation, during which they analyzed CCTV footage from the area, successfully identifying the vehicle involved.


The accused have been identified as Saurabh Gupta (26) and his uncle, Pankaj Gupta (41), both residents of Sector 16 in Rohini. Following identification through CCTV evidence, the duo was apprehended and taken into custody.


During interrogation, both accused confessed to the crime. They revealed they were returning from Hanuman Temple located in Yamuna Bazaar when the unfortunate incident occurred. After hitting the victim, they fled from the scene and subsequently attempted to conceal evidence by repairing their damaged vehicle.


Police have further revealed that the accused duo operates a children's play zone outlet situated in Paschim Vihar. Authorities have indicated that investigations into the matter are ongoing.


Delhi Police continue to probe the incident further to gather additional evidence.
