Delhi Weather Update: City Experiences Light Rain, Cloudy Skies Predicted Throughout the Day

New Delhi, March 1 – Residents of the national capital woke up to a drizzle on Saturday morning as Delhi recorded light rainfall, with the minimum temperature settling at 16.6 degrees Celsius—4.1 degrees above the season's average.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi will experience cloudy skies and intermittent drizzle for the rest of the day. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 17 degrees Celsius.

In the past 24 hours ending at 8:30 am, the city recorded 2 mm of rainfall. Weather stations across Delhi reported varying levels of precipitation, with Pitampura receiving the highest at 4 mm, followed by Safdarjung at 1.8 mm, and Palam at 1.0 mm.

At 8:30 am, humidity levels remained high at 92 percent, adding to the dampness and slightly chilly conditions prevailing across the city.

Delhi's air quality at 9 am fell under the 'moderate' category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 126, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). As per AQI standards:
  • 0-50: Good
  • 51-100: Satisfactory
  • 101-200: Moderate
  • 201-300: Poor
  • 301-400: Very Poor
  • 401-500: Severe
Citizens are advised to plan their activities accordingly due to cloudy weather conditions and moderate air quality.
