Hilversum (Netherlands), May 17 – Indian golfer Diksha Dagar delivered a composed performance with a 2-under 70 in the second round of the Dutch Ladies Open, propelling her into the top five at the Goyer Golf & Country Club.
Following a 1-under 71 in the first round, Diksha returned early on day two and carded five birdies against three bogeys, reaching a total of 3-under. She is currently tied for fourth alongside home favourite Anne Van Dam (72-69), and three others — Maha Hadioui, Hannah Screen, Amelia Garvey, and Laura Fuenfstueck — all at 3-under. However, several of them have yet to complete or begin their second rounds, keeping the leaderboard fluid.
At the top sits England’s Mimi Rhodes, continuing her impressive season with back-to-back 69s for a 6-under total. She holds a two-shot lead over Diksha and is ahead of Denmark's Sofie Kibsgaard and Poland's Dorota Zalewska, the overnight co-leaders at 4-under 68, who have yet to begin their second rounds.
India’s rising rookie Avani Prashanth, who shot 73 on the opening day, was 2-under through 17 holes in round two, improving her chances of making the cut at 2-over overall. Meanwhile, Hitaashee Bakshi, the 2024 Hero Women’s Order of Merit winner, was tied 17th after a 1-under 71 and had not yet teed off for her second round.
Other Indian golfers had mixed fortunes. Tvesa Malik posted a 2-over 74 on day one, while Pranavi Urs struggled with a 77 before withdrawing due to injury.
With a tightly packed leaderboard and several players still to finish their rounds, the competition remains intense heading into the weekend at the Dutch Ladies Open.
