Initiative Aims to Boost Operational Efficiency; Expansion Planned to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh

DP World, a prominent logistics operator, announced on Friday the introduction of women-led work shifts at its warehouse operations in Gujarat and Rajasthan. This initiative, designed to enhance workplace diversity and operational productivity, began as a pilot project last year at DP World's sorting facility in Gujarat, in partnership with a leading e-commerce brand.

Women-led Shifts Enhance Productivity

The all-women team manages critical warehouse functions, including sorting, scanning, and categorizing packages. According to DP World, the women's team has significantly improved productivity and accuracy, contributing directly to enhanced operational efficiency.

Following the successful pilot in Gujarat, DP World extended this women-led initiative to its warehousing operations in Rajasthan. As a result, operational efficiency at these facilities has nearly doubled, attributed directly to the dedication and commitment of the women-led teams.

Expansion Plans Underway

Encouraged by the initial success, DP World now plans to implement similar initiatives at its warehouses in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The expansion aligns with the company's ongoing efforts to boost gender diversity and improve operational effectiveness across its logistics network.

Currently, women account for over 14% of DP World's logistics workforce in India, with the company committed to further increasing female representation.
