According to the latest official data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), India's industrial production recorded a growth of just 3.2% in December 2024, marking the slowest pace in three months. The sluggish performance was largely attributed to downturns in the mining and manufacturing sectors. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP), regularly compiled and published by NSO, serves as the primary gauge for the nation’s factory output, providing critical insights into the health of India's industrial economy.
