Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, stated that the Government had prioritized creating an ecosystem for startups in the field of Science and Technology. In his keynote address at the two-day RISE Conclave in Chennai today, he emphasized the importance for every young person and citizen of the country to understand and utilize welfare schemes and contribute to nation-building.

Listing the various initiatives taken by the Government for Tamil Nadu, he said that 30 crore young people have benefited through the MUDRA scheme, with a notable 67% being women. He also stated that more than 30% market linkage has been provided to the scheme beneficiaries. He further mentioned that patent filings by Indian residents ranked sixth, and over two lakh people have patented their innovations.

The Minister stated that CSIR provided a platform for students and innovators. He asserted that they could receive technical assistance and also serve as business incubators. He said that this was the first time India was able to conduct research that would benefit the treatment of haemophilia.

He said that projects like Chandrayaan and gene therapy were possible due to the availability of laboratories in the State of Tamil Nadu. During today's conclave, CSIR signed several MoUs with various universities and educational institutions.
