Chandigarh, Feb 3 (PTI) – The Border Security Force (BSF) seized a drone near the India-Pakistan international border in Punjab's Amritsar district, officials reported on Monday.
Acting on specific intelligence, BSF troops launched a search operation in the border region on Sunday. During the operation, they discovered and seized a drone in a field near Khanwal village in Amritsar, an official confirmed.
The seizure marks another successful interception by the BSF, preventing an intrusion attempt from across the border.
Security forces have been on high alert due to frequent drone-related activities in the border areas, often linked to smuggling and illegal activities. Investigations are underway to determine the drone’s origin and purpose.
