Ferozepur, May 11

In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police recovered a drone along with a pistol and a magazine from an agricultural field near the Indo-Pakistan border, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The recovery was made on Saturday following specific intelligence inputs about suspicious aerial activity in the border region. Acting swiftly, security forces launched a search operation near Ganeshe Wale Jhugge village in Ferozepur district.

During the operation, a drone equipped with a pistol and a loaded magazine was found in a field, raising fresh concerns about cross-border smuggling and illegal arms trafficking.

An FIR has been registered against unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Aircraft Act. Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to trace the origins of the drone and the individuals involved.

This incident underscores ongoing security challenges along the Punjab sector of the Indo-Pak border, where drones have increasingly been used to transport contraband and arms.
