Drug peddler held in Gurugram with over 3 kg marijuana

Gurugram, Feb 3 (PTI) – A suspected drug peddler was arrested in the Palam Vihar area of Gurugram, with authorities seizing 3.486 kg of marijuana from his possession, police reported on Monday.

According to officials, the accused had booked a Rapido ride from Delhi to Gurugram to deliver the contraband. Acting on a tip-off, a police team from the Palam Vihar police station intercepted a bike on the Delhi-Bijwasan Road. Upon noticing the police, the pillion rider attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended.

Investigations revealed that the bike rider was unaware of the illicit activity and had been hired through the Rapido app. A subsequent search of the accused’s bag led to the discovery of the narcotics.

The arrested individual has been identified as Indra Kumar Sahni, a native of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, currently residing in Bharthal village, Delhi, in a rented accommodation.

Police have registered an FIR under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Palam Vihar police station, and further investigation is underway.
