New Delhi – February 11, 2026 – The United States announced Tuesday a further easing of restrictions on Venezuela's oil sector, expanding licenses allowing American companies to resume operations following the lifting of state controls. The US Treasury Department issued a license permitting certain transactions with Venezuela's government and state-run oil company PDVSA, specifically for supplying goods, technology, and software related to oil and gas exploration and production. Additional licenses authorize specific dealings necessary for port and airport operations and enable limited activities involving Venezuelan-origin crude. The move comes as the United States has supported the government of interim President Delcy Rodriguez in exchange for access to the country’s vast oil reserves.
