The General Manager of the East Coast Railway, Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal, accompanied by the Divisional Railway Manager of the Waltair Division, Shri Lalit Bohra, along with Principal Heads of Departments from the Headquarters and senior officers of the Division, conducted an intensive inspection of important sections, stations, bridges, and level crossing gates to review safety standards, infrastructure condition, and operational efficiency.

During the inspection, the General Manager closely examined Curve No. 433 between the Silakjhori–Dilimili stations, assessing track geometry and safety parameters. A yard inspection at the Dilimili station was also carried out to review operational arrangements and maintenance practices. The GM inspected the Children Park and colony where he interacted with the residents to understand their needs and concerns. Shri Funkwal also inspected the Traction Substation, interacting with frontline staff and Gangmen to gather feedback on their work culture, experience, and grievances.

The inspection at Minor Bridge No. 852 between Kumharmaranga–Jagdalpur focused on the structural condition and safety aspects. This was followed by a major station inspection at Jagdalpur, where passenger amenities, cleanliness, safety arrangements, and overall station functioning were reviewed. The GM inspected the new station building developed under the Amrit Bharat station project and reviewed the progress of the works. He also inspected the Health Unit, RPF Barracks, and the Running room, carrying out a thorough inspection of the facilities.

Further, the Level Crossing Gate KK-81 between Jagdalpur–Naktisemera was inspected to ensure compliance with safety norms and smooth movement of rail and road traffic. A speed trial was also conducted between the Amagura–Khadapa section to evaluate track performance and riding quality.

The General Manager also inspected key bridges, including Major Bridge No. 718 between Jeypore–Chattriput, with a focus on structural integrity, maintenance practices, and preparedness for safe train operations. He also carried out inspections at Koraput, interacting with the maintenance staff and Gangmen to understand their working knowledge, safety aspects, and grievances.

During the inspection, Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal interacted with field staff, officers, and Gangmen, issuing necessary instructions to further strengthen safety measures, enhance maintenance standards, and ensure reliable and punctual train operations. The GM also awarded frontline staff for their exemplary services and dedication to duty.
