
February 11, Kohima: The Under-13 ASMITA Zonal Football League 2025–26 (East Zone) concluded yesterday at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium. On the final day, Mizoram defeated Nagaland 6-0. Earlier in the day, Assam registered a dominant 10-0 win over Sikkim. At the end of the league stage, Assam emerged as the top team with 12 points, followed by Mizoram with seven points. Both teams have secured qualification for the national round. Tripura finished third with five points, Nagaland placed fourth with four points, while Sikkim ended the tournament without a point. Organized under the ASMITA and Khelo India initiatives, the East Zone league was held from February 5 to 10, featuring teams from Sikkim, Assam, Mizoram, Tripura, and Nagaland. The competition followed a single-leg league format and was hosted by the Nagaland Football Association. This year's event marked the fourth edition of the ASMITA Zonal Football League and the first time Nagaland participated in the tournament. At the closing ceremony, Secretary of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland, Anthony Ngullie, handed over prizes to the winners.
