Ajay Seth, currently serving as the Economic Affairs Secretary, was assigned additional responsibility as Secretary of the Department of Revenue, according to an official order from the Personnel Ministry issued on Saturday.

The vacancy in the Revenue Department arose after Tuhin Kanta Pandey, who previously held the position, was appointed as Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on February 27. Pandey officially assumed his new role at the Mumbai-based capital markets regulator on Saturday.
