Ed Sheeran Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Indian Auto Rickshaw Driver from Hyderabad Tour

New Delhi, April 1 – British pop sensation Ed Sheeran has warmed hearts across social media with a nostalgic shout-out to an Indian auto rickshaw driver named Rakesh, who chauffeured him around Hyderabad during his India tour earlier this year.

Taking to Instagram, the global music icon posted a cheerful throwback video showing him grooving with Rakesh to his track Azizam. The upbeat moment captured the duo bonding over music, showcasing a lighter, more intimate side of Sheeran’s travels.

“When I was touring India, I played Azizam to my taxi driver who was taking me around the city. He was a whole vibe, big up Rakesh,” Sheeran wrote in the caption.
The track Azizam is part of Sheeran's forthcoming album titled Play, building anticipation among fans for the full release.

The singer-songwriter, famed for chartbusters like Shape of You, Lego House, and Thinking Out Loud, had kicked off the Indian leg of his Mathematics "+-=÷x" tour on January 30 in Pune. The six-city musical journey concluded on February 15 in Delhi-NCR.

During his visit, Sheeran also connected with some of India’s musical legends, including A R Rahman and Arijit Singh, marking a memorable cultural exchange that fans won’t forget.
