Hyderabad, May 18 – A devastating fire broke out early Sunday morning at a building in Gulzar House, near the iconic Charminar in Hyderabad, claiming the lives of at least eight individuals. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the city, prompting urgent responses from top officials.

Fire Erupts at Dawn​

According to fire department sources, the blaze was reported around 6:30 a.m. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, where they discovered several people unconscious and promptly transported them to nearby hospitals.

A senior official from a private hospital confirmed that eight individuals were brought in dead. Among the deceased were reportedly some children, although further identification is still pending.

Official Reactions and Rescue Efforts​

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident and directed senior authorities to undertake immediate rescue operations. His office issued instructions to shift the injured to hospitals without delay and to ensure they receive proper medical attention.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who visited the site, told reporters, “Police informed that eight people are dead in the fire accident. But the figure has to be confirmed by them only.” His remarks echoed the need for verified data as the situation unfolds.

An AIMIM legislator, present at the location, said that preliminary reports suggest around 20 individuals were admitted to various hospitals due to the incident.
