Jabalpur (MP), Feb 4 (PTI) – In a dramatic late-night escape, eight juvenile offenders fled from a remand home in Jabalpur after allegedly attacking a security guard, police reported on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday night at the Bal Sampreshan Graha in the Gokalpur area. According to City Superintendent of Police (Ranjhi) Vivek Kumar Gautam, the minors overpowered the security personnel, striking him on the head with an iron lock. They then snatched the keys, unlocked the gate, and made their way out of the facility.
Authorities have launched a search operation to locate the escaped juveniles. Seven of the absconding offenders are said to be from the Jabalpur district.
Following a complaint filed by the injured security guard, the police registered an FIR against all eight escapees at the Ranjhi police station. Investigations are ongoing to track down the offenders and determine the circumstances leading to the security breach.
