Maharashtra Deputy CM Hails Armed Forces’ Retaliation to Pahalgam Terror Attack
Thane, May 14 — Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday led a spirited ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Thane to commemorate the success of Operation Sindoor, an Indian armed forces mission launched in retaliation for the recent Pahalgam terror attack.Riding in an open jeep, Shinde was joined by prominent Shiv Sena leaders, including Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik and Thane MP Naresh Mhaske. The event drew widespread public participation and showcased support for the armed forces and national unity.
Speaking at the rally, Shinde condemned the attack and highlighted the symbolism behind the operation's name. “Terrorists wiped out the 'sindoor'—a sacred symbol of marriage for Hindu women—from our sisters. In response, we gave them a befitting reply,” he said.
He also extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and applauded the leadership of India’s armed forces for their swift and decisive response against Pakistan following the terror strike.
The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ aimed to honor the courage of India’s security forces and reinforce a message of national solidarity in the wake of the incident.
