Etah (Uttar Pradesh), March 6: A shocking incident has surfaced in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, where a man has accused his three brothers, their wives, and nephews of poisoning his elderly mother over a property dispute, according to local police reports released on Thursday.
Yogendra Singh Yadav, also known as Yogi, approached the Jalesar Police alleging that his elderly mother, Pavitra Devi, was murdered two years ago by his siblings. The confirmation of poisoning came recently through a viscera report, bringing the matter back into focus after significant delays in investigation.
According to Sudhir Raghav, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Jalesar police station, Yogi alleged that his brothers—Ravendra Pal, Bijendra Pal, and Narendra Pal—manipulated their mother into transferring her property rights exclusively to them. Yogi further stated that Pavitra Devi had confided in him about the threats she was receiving from his brothers and was preparing to give a statement in court corroborating his claims.
However, before she could proceed, Pavitra Devi reportedly died due to poisoning. Although a post-mortem was conducted shortly after her death, the investigation remained inconclusive until the recent viscera report confirmed poisoning as the cause of her demise.
Following the confirmation of poisoning, the Kotwali police station in Etah has registered an FIR against nine individuals, including Yogi's three brothers, their spouses, and nephews.
SHO Sudhir Raghav confirmed, "The investigation into the matter is currently underway. All accused persons named in the FIR will be arrested soon."
Authorities are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the accused.
