
Latehar (Jharkhand), February 17 An elephant calf died on Tuesday after being hit by a goods train in the Latehar district of Jharkhand, an official said.
The calf, which was part of a herd of about 12 elephants, was crossing a railway track near the Malhan village between the Mahuamilan and Nindra stations around 8 pm on Monday when the train hit the animal.
