New Delhi, March 4: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested M K Faizy, the National President of the Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI), late on Monday night from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport under charges linked to money laundering.

Faizy was detained under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), according to official sources.

Founded in 2009, the SDPI has previously faced scrutiny due to alleged ties with the Popular Front of India (PFI), a group banned by the Union Government a few years ago for involvement in unlawful activities. However, SDPI continues to assert its independence, denying any association with PFI.

Authorities have not yet disclosed specific details concerning the arrest, and further information is anticipated soon.
