Mumbai, February 8 England captain Harry Brook won the toss and chose to bat against Nepal in their opening match of the T20 World Cup here on Sunday.
Brook said the pitch would be in the best condition for batting in the first innings and that they would aim to bowl in the second innings.
"We wanted to have two fast bowlers with the new ball. We need to stay focused and adapt to the situation," he said during the toss.
Nepal captain Rohit Paudel said he would have opted to bowl if he had won the toss.
"Considering the conditions, chasing is the better option. It's a used pitch, and if it turns, it will be beneficial for us in the second innings," he said.
