
Chennai, February 16 – The highly anticipated next film by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, one of Tamil cinema's most acclaimed directors, featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, and Raj B Shetty in the lead roles, has been titled "Pocket Novel," its makers announced on Monday.
Tyler Durden and King Fist (TDKF), the production house behind the film, released the title poster and announced the start of filming on their social media accounts on Monday.
They wrote, "Thiagarajan Kumararaja's #POCKETNOVEL. Shoot Begins!"
Needless to say, the announcement has generated immense excitement among fans and film enthusiasts.
The title poster depicts a man falling freely into what appears to be a crevice, with an open suitcase from which notes seem to be flying out. At the bottom of the poster, there is a sketch of a person who resembles Vijay Sethupathi. This person is depicted looking worried, even as he is looking up.
Sources close to the film unit told IANS that filming began with a simple pooja ceremony at Vadapalani in the city.
Besides Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, and Raj B Shetty, who will be playing the lead roles, the film will also feature the versatile actor Kishore in a key role.
The film boasts a brilliant technical team. Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja will be composing the music, and Nirav Shah, one of India's finest cinematographers, will be handling the camera.
Interestingly, the story and screenplay for this film are by director Andrew Louis, who is known for his work in Kolaigaran and the web series Vadandhi. Sathyaraj Natarajan will be handling the editing, and S D Ezhilmathy will be designing the costumes.
Yugabharathi will be penning the lyrics for the songs in the film, and Tapas Nayak has been roped in as the film's sound designer.
