Exhibition of rare old books, richly illustrated pages opens in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI): A captivating exhibition featuring rare illustrated books and pages from the 18th and 19th centuries has opened in the capital, offering visitors a glimpse into historical artistry and storytelling. Titled 'Crowning Jewels: The Illustrated Rare Books', the exhibition has been organized by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) and will run until February 10.


The exhibition presents a unique sensory experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the scent of old books while exploring intricate illustrations and historical narratives. According to IGNCA officials, the display brings history to life through paintings, lithographs, engravings, and woodcuts, reviving the artistic beauty of bygone eras.
