Fadnavis govt not elected in fair manner, claims Raut citing assembly voting 'scam'

Fadnavis-led government in Maharashtra was not elected through fair means, citing a "sudden increase in voting" during the last few hours of the November assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters, Raut claimed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) had failed to provide satisfactory answers regarding the surge of 76 lakh votes, which translates to approximately 20,000-25,000 additional votes in 150 constituencies, or around 100-150 votes per booth.

The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance secured a landslide victory in the polls, winning 230 of the 288 assembly seats, while Shiv Sena (UBT) managed to secure just 20 seats.

"This government has not been elected fairly. The sudden spike in voting numbers is nothing short of a scam. The ECI has not been able to justify this increase," Raut alleged.

He further accused the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction of operating under the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. "This is a party created by the BJP. I categorically state that the Shiv Sena will not remain united in the future. Around 20 MLAs from Shiv Sena are close to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the BJP," he asserted.

Raut also predicted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would emerge victorious in the upcoming Delhi elections scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
