Mumbai, March 1 – Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has confirmed plans to commence filming for his highly anticipated movie "Don 3" later this year. The film, part of Bollywood’s successful action franchise, will see actor Ranveer Singh step into the iconic role of Don, a character previously portrayed by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
“There is no delay, I’ll start shooting ‘Don 3’ this year. I won’t be able to do two films, ‘Don 3’ and ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ at the same time,” said Akhtar, who previously directed hit films like "Dil Chahta Hai" and "Lakshya".
Ranveer Singh's involvement in "Don 3" was officially announced in August 2023, marking a significant change for the popular franchise. Shah Rukh Khan originally essayed the legendary character in Farhan Akhtar’s earlier movies, “Don” (2006) and its sequel, “Don 2” (2011). These previous installments also starred Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Roma, Don’s love interest.
