
Faridabad, February 11 The Faridabad Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a revenue official and his assistant on Wednesday for accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000, officials said.
The accused, Jitendra, a Patwari, and his associate, Vinod, were identified.
Shatrujit Sharma, a resident of Sanjay colony, in his complaint stated that he had been visiting the tehsil office for several months to get the mutation done, but Jitendra was not performing his duties. Subsequently, Vinod, Jitendra's associate, demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000.
They agreed to Rs 25,000, and Vinod also received Rs 5,000 in advance. After this, he approached the ACB, the officials said.
Upon receiving the complaint, the ACB team set a trap and caught the accused red-handed, the officials said.
"We have arrested both the accused while they were accepting bribes, and we have recovered Rs 20,000 from them. We are questioning the accused," said SP ACB Anil Kumar.
