Una (Himachal Pradesh), May 10 – Karamdin, father of the late soldier Dilawar Khan who was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra, has called on the Indian government to persist with Operation Sindoor until all terrorist bases are eradicated.

In an emotional statement made on Saturday, Karamdin expressed deep pride in the Indian armed forces and the central government for their firm retaliation following the Pahalgam terror attack of April 22, which left 26 civilians, mostly tourists, dead.

"The government has taken the right step. Their action has provided some solace to families like ours who have lost loved ones to terrorism," said Karamdin, a resident of Gharwasda village in Himachal Pradesh’s Una district.

His son, Dilawar Khan (28), was martyred on July 23, 2024, during a counter-terror operation in the Lolab Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. Despite sustaining injuries, Dilawar managed to eliminate a terrorist before succumbing to his wounds. His extraordinary bravery earned him the Kirti Chakra, India’s second-highest peacetime gallantry award.

Karamdin’s remarks reflect the sentiments of many bereaved families, who see the government's strong military response as both a tribute to their sacrifice and a necessary step toward national security.

He urged authorities to ensure that Operation Sindoor continues "until every last terrorist hideout is destroyed," affirming his unwavering faith in the armed forces.

Dilawar Khan's bravery and sacrifice are powerful symbols of courage in adversity.
