The Deputy Commissioner and SSP Kupwara inspect arrangements at Kariwan Eco Park Devar Lolab to ensure smooth conduct, security, sanitation and hospitality ahead of February 15 festival
February 12, Kupwara: Ahead of the Lolab Winter Festival 2026, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara and other district officers, on Wednesday visited Kariwan Eco Park at Devar Lolab to review preparations for the event scheduled on February 15.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP inspected arrangements related to security, sanitation, parking facilities, traffic management, cultural programmes, food stalls and other public amenities. Officers from various departments briefed the visiting team about the progress of ongoing works and final preparations being put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the festival.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to complete all pending works well in time and emphasised maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness and hospitality for visitors and tourists expected to participate in the festival. The SSP Kupwara reviewed security measures and instructed police officials to ensure proper crowd management and peaceful conduct of the event.
The Lolab Winter Festival aims to promote local culture, tourism, handicrafts and traditional cuisine while providing a platform for artists and performers to showcase their talent. Officials expressed satisfaction over the pace of preparations and reaffirmed their commitment to making the festival a grand success.
The festival will be held on February 15 at Kariwan Eco Park, Devar Lolab, and will feature cultural programmes, creative activities, food stalls, games and music.
