Thane, May 19 — Navi Mumbai Police have registered a case against three individuals, including a former village head, for allegedly trespassing into a stockyard and assaulting a staff member, officials confirmed on Monday.

The incident took place on the evening of May 16 at a stockyard located in Kon village, Panvel. According to the police, the accused have been identified as Deepak Hake, a former sarpanch of Kon village, along with his associates Kunal Gaikwad and Jitesh Kamble.

In a complaint lodged with the local police, Rajubhai Patel, the facility’s in-charge, alleged that the trio forcibly entered the premises without authorization and attempted to coerce him into signing a document. Patel stated that he declined, citing his inability to read Marathi.

Upon his refusal, the accused allegedly assaulted Patel by slapping and punching him, and also issued threats, according to the FIR.

Law enforcement authorities have filed the case under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)pertaining to criminal trespass, assault, and criminal intimidation. However, no arrests have been made as of Monday.

The investigation is ongoing.
