Blaze Breaks Out in Early Hours at Chakk Village Facility
Una, Himachal Pradesh – A devastating fire broke out at a poultry farm in the early hours of Saturday, resulting in the death of around 450 chickens and significant property loss, officials said.The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. at Arun Kumar's poultry farm in Ward Number 4 of Chakk village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Amb police station.
According to the police, the fire originated in the reeds placed on the roof of the poultry shed. The flames also engulfed a plastic pipe used in the farm’s sprinkler system. As the blaze intensified, 450 chickens perished, and ten sacks of chicken feed were reduced to ashes.
Initial estimates place the total loss at around ₹4 lakh.
Investigation Underway
Station House Officer Anil Upadhyay from Amb Police Station confirmed that officers responded quickly upon receiving the alert. A probe has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this stage.No human casualties were reported in the incident.
