Cuttack, May 17: According to officials, a major fire erupted at a biscuit factory in the Jagatpur Industrial area of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Saturday, causing significant property damage but no casualties.
Assistant Fire Officer Sanjiv Kumar Behera confirmed that while the blaze caused extensive damage to factory property, no injuries or deaths were reported. The preliminary cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit.
The fire was successfully brought under control with the deployment of three firefighting teams from the Chauliaganj and Cuttack fire stations. Fire personnel worked swiftly to contain the flames and prevent the spread to adjoining structures.
Authorities have assured that further investigation will be conducted to ascertain the fire's exact cause and assess the extent of the damage.
