New Delhi, February 26: A fire erupted inside a cinema hall at Select City Mall on Wednesday during a movie screening, triggering panic among the audience. The incident occurred at PVR Cinemas during the 4:15 PM show of Chhava, when a corner of the movie screen caught fire.
Eyewitnesses reported chaos as fire alarms began ringing, prompting moviegoers to rush toward the exits. Fortunately, the hall was swiftly evacuated, ensuring no casualties.
According to the Delhi Fire Services, they received a distress call at 5:42 PM, following which fire tenders were dispatched to the scene. The blaze was brought under control, and officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether the fire resulted from an electrical malfunction or another source. Further inspections are underway to assess safety measures at the cinema hall.
