A sudden fire broke out on Tuesday at the Krishna Apra Market Plaza, a popular shopping complex located in Noida's bustling Sector 18 market, causing widespread panic as flames threatened to consume the entire building.
Eyewitness videos circulated online showed terrified shoppers and store owners rushing out of the complex to safety. One distressing video captured a man stranded inside the building, seemingly preparing to jump from a window to escape the smoke-filled interiors.
Swift Action by Authorities Controls Blaze Within Minutes
Responding rapidly, Noida police and fire services reached the scene within just four minutes of receiving reports. According to Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Shivhari Meena, the emergency response teams managed to bring the blaze under control within ten minutes, preventing a potential disaster.
Preliminary investigations by the fire department indicate that the fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit within one of the shops.
Stranded Individuals Rescued, Hospitalized as Precaution
Rescue teams used a hydraulic platform and ladders to safely evacuate people trapped in the building. Several individuals experiencing discomfort due to smoke inhalation were immediately transported to a nearby hospital.
ACP Meena confirmed that doctors have evaluated the condition of those hospitalized and declared them out of danger and in stable condition.
This swift intervention by emergency responders prevented further escalation, safeguarding numerous lives and minimizing damage to property in one of Noida's busiest commercial hubs.
