Fire Erupts in New Seelampur Slum Cluster, No Casualties Reported

Incident Contained Within 40 Minutes; Several Huts Damaged​

New Delhi, April 1 — A fire broke out early Tuesday morning in a slum cluster located in northwest Delhi’s New Seelampur area, prompting a swift response from the Delhi Fire Service. The blaze, which erupted near Jag Parvesh Hospital at approximately 7:35 a.m., was brought under control within 40 minutes.

According to officials, seven fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene to douse the flames. The fire was completely contained by 8:15 a.m., preventing further spread within the densely populated area.

While no casualties or injuries were reported, initial assessments suggest that four to five huts were damaged in the incident.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of property loss.
