According to police sources, four of the arrested individuals were apprehended from Bimparao in Kangpokpi district. These individuals were reportedly operating under a cadre of the banned militant group, the Kuki National Front (P).

In a separate operation on Friday, security forces arrested an active member of the proscribed People's Liberation Army (PLA) from Kultuh village in Kamjong district, near the India-Myanmar border. Officials recovered a pistol and a grenade from his possession.

Public Surrender of Arms in Five Districts

Amid ongoing security measures, authorities also reported that several arms and ammunition were voluntarily surrendered by the public across five districts – Tengnoupal, Imphal East, Kangpokpi, Imphal West, and Thoubal.

The surrendered cache included rifles, grenades, mortars, and country-made hand grenades, police sources stated.
