Muzaffarnagar, May 16 – Tragedy struck in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district on Friday as five people, including two married couples, lost their lives in two separate road accidents, according to local police.

Collision Near Kinauni Gate Claims Three Lives​

The first accident occurred near the Kinauni Gate on the Shahpur-Muzaffarnagar road. A car and a motorcycle collided, killing three individuals on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Kapil (30), who was riding the bike, his wife Mamtesh (28), and Ramesho Devi (26), who was a passenger in the car.

Circle Officer Gajendrapal Singh confirmed that four other individuals sustained injuries in the crash and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions remain undisclosed.

Couple Run Over by a Truck in Sikheda​

In a separate incident, a couple was fatally run over by a speeding truck while on their way to offer prayers at a Shiva temple in Sikheda village, located along the Delhi-Pauri highway.

Balendra (38) and his wife Kamesh (34) are the victims. The truck driver fled the scene with the vehicle, and police said that efforts were underway to trace and apprehend him.

Both incidents have cast a pall of gloom over the affected communities, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety and reckless driving in the region.
