Ahmedabad, May 12 – In a devastating road accident near Dholera town in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district, five people lost their lives and three others sustained injuries after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided head-on with a car on Monday afternoon.
High-Speed Crash on Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar Highway
The incident occurred around 3 PM near Sandheda village, on the highway connecting Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar. According to an official from Dholera police station, a speeding SUV carrying six men crashed into a car coming from the opposite direction. The car had two women passengers at the time of the collision.Three Brothers Among the Deceased
Tragically, four of the deceased were travelling in the SUV. Among them were three brothers and their cousin, all of whom were returning to Ahmedabad from Bhavnagar. The fifth victim was a woman travelling in the car, who was en route to Bhavnagar.Rescue Operation and Investigation Underway
As soon as local authorities were alerted, Dholera police reached the accident site to carry out relief and rescue operations. The injured, including one from the SUV and two from the car, were rushed to a hospital in Bhavnagar for treatment.An investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway, police confirmed.
