Accident Occurred Near Nelogi Cross in the Early Hours of Saturday​

Kalaburagi, Karnataka – April 5:
In a devastating road accident early Saturday morning, five people — including a 13-year-old girl — lost their lives when a mini bus collided with a parked truck near Nelogi Cross in Jewargi taluk, Kalaburagi district.

The victims, all hailing from Bagalkote, were reportedly travelling to a dargah in the Kalaburagi district. The tragic incident occurred around 3:30 a.m., according to local police.

Parked Truck with Punctured Tyre Was Being Repaired​

Authorities stated that the truck involved had developed a tyre puncture and was stationed on the left side of the road. The driver was in the process of changing the tyre when the mini bus, carrying several pilgrims, crashed into the vehicle from behind.

“The impact was severe, leading to the immediate death of five individuals on the spot,” said Kalaburagi Superintendent of Police, A Srinivasulu.

Several Injured, Driver Absconding​

Multiple passengers sustained injuries and were swiftly moved to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention. The police are still in the process of confirming the exact number of injured individuals.

The mini bus driver reportedly fled the scene following the collision. Authorities have registered a case and launched a manhunt to apprehend the absconding driver.

Investigations into the cause and circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.
