Gurugram, May 11 — Gurugram Police arrested four men on charges of cattle smuggling following a dramatic midnight chase that ended with the accused's vehicle overturning after a tyre burst. During the pursuit, the suspects allegedly pelted stones at police personnel and members of a cow vigilante group who were also involved in the operation.

According to officials, three other individuals from the same group managed to flee the scene and are currently absconding. Police have launched search operations to apprehend them.

“We are questioning the accused after registering an FIR. Raids are being conducted to arrest the three absconders,” said Ajayveer Bhadana, Station House Officer of Sector 65 police station.

The incident unfolded late Saturday night after a cow vigilante group alerted police about suspected cattle smugglers targeting a lane near Wazirabad village. Acting swiftly, the police began a chase, which culminated in the accused’s vehicle crashing due to a tyre burst. Cows were found and rescued from the vehicle, officials confirmed.

The police have not disclosed the identities of those arrested, but investigations are ongoing. The rescued cattle are now safe, and authorities are preparing additional charges based on the results of their probe.
