Four Arrested in Baghpat for Kidnapping Businessman; Rs 2 Crore Ransom Foiled by Police

Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, March 3 – In a swift operation, police arrested four individuals in Baghpat for kidnapping a businessman and his friend, aiming to extort a ransom of Rs 2 crore for quick financial gain. The arrest occurred late Sunday night, authorities confirmed.

Bilal, a resident of Patti Choudhran, filed a complaint at Baraut Police Station on March 1, reporting that his brother, Noor Mohammad, along with friend Shavez, had been kidnapped. The kidnappers demanded Rs 2 crore as ransom and threatened to kill the victims if the amount was not paid promptly, said Baghpat Superintendent of Police, Arpit Vijayvargiya.

Responding rapidly, the police traced the kidnappers' mobile phone used for the ransom calls and successfully rescued both Noor and Shavez within 24 hours. The operation also resulted in the immediate arrest of four accused—identified as Shivam and Rajat from Shamli, and Pradyumn and Vijay from Muzaffarnagar.

Investigations revealed that two of the accused, Shivam and Pradyumn, were employees at Noor Mohammad's Noida-based company. Seeking easy money, the duo collaborated with their associates Rajat, Vijay, Bijendra, Aman, Ajay, Anuj, and Rahul Sharma, kidnapping Noor and Shavez from Sector 90, Noida.

Police teams are currently conducting extensive searches to apprehend the five remaining accused involved in the kidnapping plot.
