Four Bangladesh Nationals Arrested in Tripura for Illegal Border Crossing, Five Indians Detained for Facilitation

Agartala, March 3 — Four Bangladesh nationals have been arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura for allegedly entering India illegally, officials confirmed on Monday. In connection with the border breach, five Indian nationals, accused of aiding their infiltration, have also been detained.

The arrests took place following a tip-off about suspicious activity. On Sunday evening, a BSF patrolling party conducted a raid at Dhaniabari, a remote tribal village near the Chittagong Hill Tract (CHT) in the Nutanbazar area of Gomati district. The team intercepted four individuals attempting to cross the international border.

Two of the detained Bangladeshis are residents of Nutanbazar in Gomati district, while the other two hail from Khagracheri district in Bangladesh, a BSF official stated.

In a separate operation in the Dyke VIII area of Nutanbazar, BSF personnel noticed unusual movement and apprehended five individuals attempting to cross the border. Upon investigation, two of them were also found to be Bangladesh nationals.

The authorities have initiated further investigations into the incidents.
