Kalyani, West Bengal, May 12 — Four Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in West Bengal's Nadia district on Monday along with a suspected Indian tout, police officials confirmed.

The arrests were carried out in the Hanskhali police station area, according to Somnath Jha, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ranaghat. Law enforcement authorities intercepted the group during their attempt to return to Bangladesh.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the four foreign nationals had illegally entered India around a year ago via the North 24 Parganas border. Over the past year, they had reportedly travelled to various locations, including Chennai and Bengaluru.

The police are continuing their inquiry to determine the full extent of the network involved in facilitating illegal cross-border movement.
