Bike horn manufacturing unit sealed; all victims stable under medical care
New Delhi, May 12 – Four members of a family were hospitalised on Monday after allegedly inhaling toxic fumes at a bike horn manufacturing unit in northwest Delhi’s Sangam Park, police said. The incident took place at DSIDC Shed Number 63, where Hardeep Singh, who owns the unit, arrived with his wife Harpreet Kaur (38), son Jagdish Singh (16), and daughter Hargul Kaur (15) on Monday morning. Shortly after entering the premises, all four reportedly fell critically ill due to suspected toxic exposure.
Police said they were alerted through a PCR call, which was made after one of the victims' children contacted relatives, who then informed the authorities.
Responding officers found the family in serious condition and rushed them to nearby hospitals. Hardeep, Jagdish, and Hargul were admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital, while Harpreet was taken to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital.
“All four victims are currently under medical observation and are in stable condition,” a senior police official stated.
Authorities have sealed the shed, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause and nature of the toxic fumes. A case is being registered in connection with the incident.
