Four Killed, Five Injured as Car Crashes into House in Pratapgarh

Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh – February 26: A tragic accident on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway near Baburaha turn claimed four lives and left five others injured after a speeding car lost control and rammed into a house in Rajgarh village, police reported.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Shiv Narayan Baish confirmed that the accident occurred around 2:30 am when the vehicle veered off course and crashed into a residence, injuring both the car occupants and the house's residents.

Among the victims, four people succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The deceased have been identified as Raju Singh (25) from Chainpur Madhaura, Bihar; Abhishek Kumar Singh (24) from Chhapra, Bihar; Saurabh (26) from Raigarh, Jharkhand; and the driver, Abhishek Ojha (30).

The police stated that the seven occupants of the car were returning from the Kumbh Mela and were headed to Ayodhya for a pilgrimage at the time of the accident. The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment, while authorities have sent the bodies for post-mortem and initiated further investigation into the incident.

This accident underscores the dangers of late-night travel on highways, particularly after long journeys. Authorities urge commuters to exercise caution while driving to prevent such tragedies.
