New Delhi, Feb 27: A new franchise-based cricket league exclusively for retired Ranji Trophy players is set to launch, with former India pacer Praveen Kumar taking on the role of mentor.
The Epic Victory Cricket League (EVCL) tournament is expected to be played in June or July and will feature six franchises competing in 18 matches.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the initiative, Praveen Kumar stated, "I am thrilled to support EVCL for recognizing the contribution of Ranji players. Giving credit to these players is important, as their career span often lacks recognition. I hope this league allows them to reignite their careers and earn."
According to an official release, registration for retired players will commence soon, paving the way for their participation in the much-anticipated league.
The introduction of EVCL will provide former domestic cricket stalwarts with a fresh platform to showcase their skills while engaging fans with competitive action on the field.
