Gaggal Airport Tops National Customer Satisfaction Survey for Domestic Airports in 2024

Dharamsala’s Gaggal Airport leads in passenger satisfaction; new routes to Dehradun and Jaipur announced​

Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh), April 1 — Gaggal Airport in Kangra district has secured the top position in the Customer Satisfaction Survey (2024) for domestic airports, conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). This recognition underscores the airport's continued excellence in delivering high-quality passenger services and enhancing travel experiences.

Following closely behind Gaggal, Rajahmundry Airport and Madurai Airport took the second and third spots, respectively.

The award was presented by AAI Chairman Vipin Kumar to Airport Director Dhirender Singh during AAI’s Annual Day celebrations held in Delhi on Sunday and Monday.

Recognizing service quality and experience​

The survey, conducted across more than 100 domestic airports nationwide, evaluated passenger satisfaction across multiple parameters. According to officials, the top-ranking airports have set a new standard in service quality and operational efficiency.

Chairman Vipin Kumar emphasized AAI’s commitment to continuously upgrading airport infrastructure, improving service delivery, and enhancing the overall passenger experience.

“These recognitions reflect our focus on delivering best-in-class services to travelers across the country,” said Kumar.

New flight routes and increased connectivity​

Speaking on Tuesday, Airport Director Dhirender Singh expressed pride in the achievement and reaffirmed the airport’s commitment to maintaining its top rank.

Singh also announced that flights from Dharamsala to Dehradun and Jaipur have been approved by both the AAIand the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). IndiGo Airlines is expected to begin operations on these new routes soon.

In anticipation of the upcoming tourist season, the airport will operate 18 daily flights connecting Gaggal to Delhi, Chandigarh, and Shimla, significantly boosting regional connectivity and tourism.
