New Delhi, Feb 27 – Australian batter Georgia Voll has been named as the replacement for Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamari Athapaththu in the UP Warriorz (UPW) squad for the remainder of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. Athapaththu has exited the tournament to fulfill her national commitments with Sri Lanka.
Confirming the development, the WPL issued a statement saying, "UP Warriorz (UPW) picked Georgia Voll as a replacement for Chamari Athapaththu for the remainder of the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. Athapaththu will be resuming national duties for Sri Lanka."
With Voll's inclusion, UP Warriorz will be aiming to strengthen their campaign as they push for a playoff spot in WPL 2025.
