Mumbai, Feb 3 (PTI) – Mumbai police have launched an investigation after a nine-year-old girl was allegedly injected with an unknown substance by an unidentified man on her school premises in Bhandup. The disturbing incident, which took place on January 31, has raised serious concerns about security within school campuses.
According to police officials, the girl was playing on the school playground when she was approached by the suspect, who lured her to a secluded spot and administered the injection. The child's parents, upon learning about the incident, promptly took her for a medical examination and reported the matter to the Bhandup police station.
Authorities have registered a case against the unidentified man and formed four special teams to probe the case. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the school. "The girl can be seen playing in the footage. We are analyzing the events to establish the exact sequence and identify the suspect," a police official stated.
When asked whether the girl suffered any adverse health effects following the incident, the official noted that investigations are underway to determine the circumstances and potential impact of the injection.
