Goa Sees 10.5% Surge in Tourist Arrivals in Q1 2025 Amid Strategic Push.webp

Mumbai, May 12 – Goa recorded a 10.5 percent increase in tourist arrivals during the January–March 2025 quarter, buoyed by the state’s focused promotional and partnership initiatives, according to an official statement by the Goa Tourism Department.

A total of 28,51,554 tourists visited Goa in the first quarter of 2025, up from 25,80,155 visitors during the same period last year, highlighting a strong rebound and growing interest in the coastal state.

Multi-Pronged Strategy Powers Growth

The rise in footfall is attributed to a three-fold strategy adopted by the Goa Department of Tourism:
  • Strengthening promotions in both core and emerging markets
  • Boosting international air connectivity
  • Diversifying tourism offerings to cater to broader interests
“This success is not incidental,” said Rohan A Khaunte, Goa’s Minister for Tourism, IT, E&C. “It is the outcome of strategic planning, robust partnerships, and consistent market engagement.”

Focus on Sustainable and Experiential Tourism

Minister Khaunte emphasized that Goa is preparing for the future by focusing on sustainability, improved connectivity, and providing meaningful experiences for travelers. “Our goal remains clear — to make Goa a future-ready destination,” he added.

With its latest growth figures, Goa continues to solidify its position as one of India’s most sought-after travel destinations, especially as global travel trends shift toward immersive and eco-conscious experiences.
