Kanpur (UP), Feb 4 (PTI) – A freight train collided with a stationary goods train in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district early Tuesday morning, resulting in the derailment of the guard coach and engine, and leaving the loco pilot injured.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. in the dedicated freight corridor near Pambhirpur, Khaga, in Fatehpur district. According to Inspector General (IG) of Prayagraj range, Prem Kumar Gautam, the loco pilot, who sustained injuries, had allegedly fallen asleep at the controls, leading to the crash.
Rescue operations are currently underway to clear the affected corridor and restore train movement. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine further details.
